Blackmore & Langdon was founded in 1901 after two passionate flower enthusiasts Charles Langdon â a gardener - and James Blackmore â an engineer and owner of a public house â met at the Bath Flower Show both exhibiting prize-winning begonias. Beginning with delphiniums and begonias they would add many more plants to the range and would continue to be major hybridizers throughout their lifetimes. Though extremely successful the Blackmore side of the business survived only two generations while the Langdons in their forth generation kept the business in the family and are still going strong today.
