The current issue covers a variety of topics some of which are: President Hoover's refusal to enter a discussion on the then Tariff Law which were to morph later into the Smoot-Hawley Tariff of 1930; a large article on the escalating tension between Russia and China; a college football editorial and coverage with a large photo of Ben Lom a star halfback who was inducted into the California Hall of Fame in 1991; many others. Used as "Thank You" keepsakes the brochures were given by carriers to their customers on the first day of each new year and contained a long-winded cheerful poems which presented the previous year's news in verse. The Salem Register 1800 - ca 1911 was a newspaper published in Salem Massachusetts.
