Set of four quarterly periodicals published from 1897 to 1898.Illustrations include a range of illustrated plates and musical notations throughout all volvumes. This is a selection of four periodicals from 'The Dome' periodical subtitled 'A Quarterly Containing Examples of All the Arts' as well as 'An Illustrated Monthly Review'. 'The Dome' ran from March 1897 to July 1900 and was one of the last successful Aestheticist literary magazines.This set includes Numbers One Three Four and Five with the first two published in 1897 and the latter two published in 1898. These volumes contain contributions on architecture literature drawing painting and music from extremely notable contributors of the day.No. 1's contents include 'Virgin and Child with St. John the Baptist' by Sandro Botticelli and 'Impromptu Amoroso' by Edgardo Levi. With nine illustrated plates.No. 3 includes 'A Blessed Damozel' by J. E. Woodmeald and 'Vivien and Merlin' by E. Burne-Jones. With nine illustrated plates some of which are coloured. No. 4 includes ''To Baby' by Louis Barsac 'The Paralytic' by Laurence Binyon' and 'Fuji through Rain' by Hokusai. With nine illustrated plates some of which are in colour.No. 5 includes 'Aodh to Dectora' by W. B. Yeats' 'Prologue-Before the Theatre' by Arthur Symons and 'The Enchanted Sea' by H. A. Payne. With nine illustrated plates some of which are in colour.Edited by Ernest J. Oldmeadow who was the publisher and manager of The Unicorn Press.With seventeen pages of publisher's adverts to the rear of No. 1 ten pages to No. 3 eight pages to No. 4 and eight pages to No. 5.Collated complete. In the original publisher's binding with paper covered boards. Externally smart. Some wear to the extremities and the spine with particular edge wear and subsequent loss to the spines of No. 4 and No. 5. A few marks to boards with some discolouration to the margins of No. 1. Dampstain to the margins of No. 3. Internally firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout with light age-toning to margins.Some of the pages are unopened to Vol I Vol III and Vol IV. Some of the tissue guards for illustrated plates have come loose to Vol III Very Good The Unicorn Press hardcover
