Copley Library with the San Diego newspaper publisher and philanthropist's bookplate to the front pastedown. Original blue cloth binding with black and silver titles. A few short unobtrusive strips of tape from an old dust jacket protector to the pastedowns and the verso of the dust jacket. Some general sun fading along the spine of the dust jacket with a small chip to the spine heel and a bit of occasional mild edgewear; otherwise very good. Inscribed by Author. Signed and dated "1969" by Coward and postmarked in Milwaukee Wisconsin on May 17 1969. The envelope features an image of an Abraham Lincoln stamp on the left and has a cancelled six-cent Apollo 8 stamp on the upper right. Quadruple-matted in gray with a handsome circular cut-out surrounding a 4.75-inch-wide photo of Coward wearing a hat and overcoat. Set in an off-white frame measuring 14 x 13 inches. Very good condition except for a chip on the bottom edge of the frame which is not visible when viewed straight on.<br/><br/> unknown books

Natural folds but otherwise fine condition. Float-mounted beside a photo of a seated Coward cigarette in hand gazing off to the side.
