Il rapporto tra filosofia e psicoanalisi viene indagato in questo libro muovendo dalla consapevolezza che oggi la mappa del sapere non ha più la forma circolare che giustificava la pretesa della totalizzazione enciclopedica. Il rapporto tra i saperi è invece quello della diffrazione: un sapere, una pratica disciplinare, un discorso ne scompone un altro, lo sfrangia, nello stesso tempo in cui si lascia decomporre o decostruire a propria volta. Di conseguenza, oltre ogni intento interdisciplinare, ciò che si tratta di mettere a fuoco è precisamente la chiamata in giudizio o la messa alla prova che la psicoanalisi realizza nei confronti della filosofia, intimandole di esibire il proprio limite, provocandola a dire ciò che per essa risulta indicibile. Attraverso tre saggi, dedicati rispettivamente al «perturbante» e all'angoscia in Freud e Heidegger, alla metafora platonica dell'amore riletta da Lacan e alla genealogia della psicoanalisi secondo Michel Henry, la filosofia messa alla prova dalla psicoanalisi può in qualche modo accordarsi con quest'ultima, in quanto entrambe, pur nell'irriducibilità dei rispettivi procedimenti, alludono, come ha scritto Merleau-Ponty, alla medesima latenza. Fabio Ciaramelli (Napoli 1956) insegna Teoria dell'interpretazione nell'Università di Napoli. Ha curato l'edizione italiana di alcuni scritti di E. Levinas, ed è autore di vari articoli e di un libro su Levinas (Transcendance et éthique, Bruxelles 1989) nonché di alcuni saggi sul rapporto tra etica e politica in Arendt, Castoriadis, Lefort, Ricoeur. Bruno Moroncini (Napoli 1946) è professore di Filosofia morale nell'Università di Messina. Il gesuita Padre Granelli (Genova 1703 - Modena 1770), come molti dei suoi contemporanei, risulta piuttosto abile nell'ordire l'azione e soprattutto nel ''cavare il molto da poco'' (Bertana 267).
