Beautiful hand coloured caricature by Fleury of Napoleon stepping from Elba to Paris in a single step. He is holding the tricolor flag in one hand and in the other a sword and an olive branch. He is watched by various members of the royal family equipped with telescopes each uttering a sentence as memorable as " As water water everywhere !" or "This man will make his way". Only Berry suggests "Let's wage a little war on him" In excellent condition bar a touch of darkening to the page edge. Unintelligible signature in ink to the verso of the engraving. 8 pages uncut. An excellent example. 325 by 250mm 12¾ by 9¾ inches. . Première édition. Couvertures originales en papier vert de l'éditeur. Titres sur la couverture avant et couronne impériale au dos. Presque sans tache à l'exception d'une minuscule marque sur la couverture et d'une très petite déchirure 5 mm sur le bord avant. Seul Berry suggère "Faisons-lui une petite guerre". En excellent état à l'exception d'un léger assombrissement de la bordure des pages.
