Sturdy binding with no separation gaps or cracks. Some shelf wear to bottom edges; faded boards but the gilt lettering on spine is bright; generally in overall excellent condition. Text block is clean and crisp despite foxing to page edges as well as the original paperback covers and the first and last few pages. First volume has a biography by Henri d'Orleans pp.III-XX note that already at page III the foxing has disappeared followed by an introduction by Ernest Bertin pp.XXI-LXVII. Volume one published in 1900 subtitled "La famille d'Orleans au Palais-Royal 1828-1831" with 364 pages has two portraits and volume two published in 1903 subtitled "La famille d'Orleans aux Tuileries et en exil 1832-1851" with 518 pages has one portrait. Volume two has the peculiarity of adding "et correspondance" to the main title which is explained by the editor's preface pp.a-c. Though a little lackluster with sunned exterior and with some light foxing des rousseurs here and there this is still a compelling ensemble in collectible condition.
