It was first performed at the Theatre Royal Nottingham on June 6 1961 in a production by the English Stage Company. Albert Finney played the great man and Tony Richardson directed. The front flap mistakenly says it was first performed in Paris in July 1961.</p><p>PHYSICAL DETAILS: Octavo 8 1/8 x 4 7/8 inches; 207 x 124 mm 102 pages in burgundy cloth titles in gilt to spine in a price-clipped illustrated dust jacket hard cover.<br /><br />CONDITION: Spine titles bright and unfaded upper board slightly askew rubbing to extremities.
