The Stanislavski Method developed by Russian actor and director Konstantin Stanislavski is a system of acting that emphasises emotional truth psychological realism and character immersion. It encourages actors to draw from personal experiences use the "magic if" imagining themselves in a character's situation and analyse objectives and motivations. The method introduced techniques like emotional memory given circumstances and subtext to create authentic performances. It influenced modern acting shaping techniques used in Method Acting by Lee Strasberg.
