1920141148New York: Grosset and Dunlap 1920. First Photoplay Edition. Photo-illustrated with stills from the film.

Based on the 1920 silent film directed by D.W. Griffith and starring Lillian Gish in turn based on the 1898 play by Charlotte Blair Parker. Although the play was filmed twice previously in 1908 and 1914 and once subsequently in a Gary Cooper starring 1935 sound film Griffith's version stands out due the inclusion of a bravura set piece where star Gish flees across an icy river a sequence done without the aid of stunt people or special effects.

Very Good in a Very Good dust jacket. Boards lightly spotted. Jacket spine lightly toned with light chipping to the extremities. Grosset and Dunlap unknown books
1992S12365Pasadena:: JPL 1992. 1992. 4to. xvi 437 pp. Tables index. White cloth. Near fine. "This book contains the documentation for the IRAS Minor Planet Survey IMPS. It explicates the creation and formats of the final data products and contains all of the hard copy catalogs. Although the reader is often referred to the /RAS Explanatory Supplement 1988 for arcane details of the IRAS hardware inertial source survey strategy or SDAS data processing technicalities and to the IRAS Asteroid and Comet Survey 1986 for information regarding the previous processing of IRAS asteroid data this document alone should satisfy the needs of most users of IRAS asteroid data. Because of substantial changes between the first processing of the IRAS asteroid data and the current version it was necessary to produce a different set of final data products and to completely rewrite the documentation. This version describes the data submitted to the National Space Science Data Center NSSDC; interested readers are referred to the NSSDC for access to the IMPS data. See §1.3 page 3 for instructions on how to do this." [JPL], 1992. hardcover books
