A solid copy of this wonderful 1907 French children's tale of the misadventures of a certain incorrigible --but very cute-- dog. Tight and VG- in its decorative plaid cloth with just a touch of soiling to the interior and light chipping at the rear panel edges including 2" of loss along the rear fore-edge. Still though attractive and very presentable and nicely illustrated in rich color by the author Benjamin Rabier himself. Rabier's color illustrations would seem to prefigure the anthropomorphic charm and acuity of Warner Brothers' Loony Toons. Text is minimal and not critical to enjoyment of the cartoon-like format with some frames half and even full page which measures 12.5 by 9.5 inches. Some shelfwear to boards with moderate soilage and some minor losses to paper on board along edges. Heavy stock paper with toning but clean otherwise. Tight binding.
