1936146500San Francisco: Bohemian Club 1936. First edition of this Grove Play produced and performed by and for Bohemian Club members. Octavo original orange boards. Signed by Walt Disney opposite the dedication page. Additionally signed and inscribed by nearly 70 individuals. In his book 'Walt Disney: An American Original' Bob Thomas recounts the story of Walt Disney's visit to the Bohemian Club in 1936 the year in which his signature appears in this volume -- apparently the snoring from the following evening inspired the snoring scene in the Dwarfs' cottage in Snow White. In very good condition ownership inscription to the front pastedown "For Orrville Taylor. Bohemia Aug 1 1936 from H. P." with a large sketch of the mountainside. A Rare vintage rubber Mickey Mouse - stamped Walt Disney Productions on the bottom of one shoe and MASUDAYA Japan with a Mt Fuji Logo on the bottom of the other shoe. A rather elongated Mickey in non-bendy rubber - it's possible the rubber is 'bendy' but I feel it's not and I'm not about to try. Size is approx 7.5" Tall. I have been unable to find out much about this - but the style and 'dress' of this Mickey is very 1920s/30s. Toy manufacturer Masudaya was founded in 1923 in Tokyo. Rare Disneyana. Jacket only acceptable/poor condition due to the lower half of the front panel is missing torn off as well as tears and three rather large chips missing.
