Publisher's cornflower blue boards with black lettering to the front board and spine. A first edition first printing published by Hodder and Stoughton in 1945. A VG copy with no inscriptions with a little spotting to the text block and a little scattered spotting to the front board. Small patch of fading to the foot of the spine where the D/W had previously been folded and which has now been re-folded back in place. SIGNED by way of an official bookplate to the front end-paper. In a very good wrapper priced 6/- net to the inside flap as called for with one minute chip to the head of the spine not affecting any lettering. Unclipped. Exceptionally clean rear panel front panel with some fading although how this happened is difficult to fathom. Some rubbing to the edges and corners. Neat internal repair to the foot of the spine. The D/W is priced 6/- net to the inside flap as called for with a touch of fraying at the head of the spine and a short imperceptible. closed tear to the bottom left-hand corner of the front panel. All books in Good to VG condition with coloured pictorial covers and illustrated throughout in b/w by BEEK. Minor page fore-edge tanning and light discolouration to the edges. Some spotting to the front cover of 'Noddy Loses his Clothes'. Some creasing and a small split to the rear/spine of 'Noddy and Jimmy Giraffe'. Some light childs colouring to a couple of the illustrations here and there in each book but most illustrations untouched. 'Jimmy Giraffe' has no childs colouring. The Garage 'box' is Very Good and Complete with a pencil 2/6 on the front top corner and an old gift note on the top rear in ink. The First Editions of these book collections are not noted in the books but the first issues in 1953 only have 'Sampson Low' as publisher - later issues were Sampson Low Marston. etc. Not perfect but a really nice vintage set overall.
