Laid in is a mimeo'd 2pp outline dated 1958 which is partially torn with loss to edge of first page. <br /> <br /> Manuscript copy from one of the more prolific pulp and screen writers of the mid century Frank Gruber 1904-1969. Gruber began writing stories for Weird Tales Shadow Magazine The Spider Black Mask Dime Mystery and others publishing some 300 stories for over 40 magazines in the span of about 30 years. Once he caught on as a writer he began turning his attention to novels generally in the Western and Detective Fiction genres publishing more than 60 in his lifetime. He also penned 65 screenplays and numerous television scripts. <br /> <br /> <br /> This novel published as Dawn Riders by Bantam in 1968 tells the tale of Sam Parker who is forced to lead a cattle drive to a new town run by a ruthless former Union officer. An excellent representation of the work in manuscript form of a versatile and influential writer across many literary and media genres. . unknown

Original spine laid down else a fine copy.<br /><br />The art historian Conte Leopoldo Cicognara 1767-1834 wrote on aesthetics French and Italian art mainly visual and art and archaeology of antiquity. He also compiled this catalogue of his own collection the working and reference library of a scholar who could afford to buy whatever books he needed. It was primarily a library of classical studies and of Italian and French art and aesthetics from the Renaissance through the 18th century. Cicognara's library was acquired by Pope Leo XII in 1824 and is today part of the Vatican Library. There are 4800 numbered entries with frequent descriptive annotations. Topics include: treatises on painting ancient and modern theatrical architecture perspective treatises on beauty Etruscan antiquities Italian antiquities before Rome numismatics inscriptions and many others.
