With beautiful colour illustrated paste-downs and free endpapers. Consisting of a frontispiece nine full page illustrations and several vignette illustrations throughout by Edward Ardizzone. Collated complete. Signed by the illustrator to the limitations page. 'The Ugly Duckling' by Hans Christian Andersen. Translated from the Danish by Jean Hersholt. This edition consists of 2500 numbered copies of which this is number 950. Illustrated with four full page plates and numerous colour vignette illustrations throughout by Everett Gee Jackson. Signed by both the translator and illustrator to the limitations page. In the original full pictorial cloth binding. Externally excellent with minor shelf wear. Some fading and marks to the spines. A few light handling marks to the boards of 'Ali Baba' and 'The Ugly Duckling'. Internally firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean. Ink signature to the limitations page of 'Ali Baba' and pencil signatures to the limitations page of 'the ugly duckling'. Slipcase is a trifle rubbed.
