Contemporary full polished calf with six spine compartments between raised bands. Reddish leather spine label in second compartment with gilt-tooled title: Recherch des Feuilles. Gilt-tooled decoration in remaining spine compartments. All page edges speckled red. Title page printed in red and black. Engraved title vignette signed: J. Wandelaar 1753. Jan Wandelaar also engraved most of the plates; a few are signed J.V. Schey presumably Jacob van der Schley. Engraved headpieces and tailpieces. References: Pritzel 981; Nissen 201. In Very Good Condition: leather is slightly rubbed; front joint starting to separate at head of spine but hinges are tight; old dampstain along lower edge and gutter of first few leaves not touching printing; otherwise pages and plates are clean and bright.
