The author,a former Member of the Greek Parliament and a Minister, was imprisoned by the Junta in 1970. In March 1974 he submitted testimony to the US Committee in Foreign affairs - which offence led to his arrest in April 1974 after he returned to Greece. This book outlines the events of 1974, not just the suppression of the human and legal rights of Greek citizens, but also their interference in Cypriot affairs which provided an excuse for the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in July. The book contains transcripts of the author's correspondence and other documentation from that time 464 p .
