Good copies only both in the original red leather-backed red cloth boards slightly dust-toned overall and heavily rubbed at the edges with some surface loss. Spine elaborately gilt-tooled now heavily worn overall and at the ends. Top edges gilt. In volume 1 the first leaf of the preface is loose showing significant creases and minor tears to the margins. In volume 2 the gathering comprising pp. vii-xii is loose but present and strong. Otherwise although the text blocks are cracked in some places the sewing and cloth joints are holding secure. The leaves themselves are strong and bright overall with some faint scattered foxing. Remains a very serviceable set overall.
