Hardcover, complete 2-volume set, half-bound in blue leather with cloth sides. Comes in original slipcase. 4-raised bands and gilt lettering to spine, as well as gilt page block head. Minor wear to spine ends and faint marks to page block feet. Gift inscription penned to second endpage of volume 1. The case has much exterior wear, including a 7cm tear along the bottom hinge and a few surface tears. The books themselves are in very good condition and very clean throughout. AD Used

SIGNED BY AUTHOR - Bernard M. Zlotowitz (1925-2015), a renowned leader in the American Jewish Reform movement who taught on the faculties of the University of North Carolina, HUC-JIR, and retired as Professor of Bible at the Academy for Jewish Religion. He earned his doctorate at HUC-JIR under the direction of Harry Orlinsky (1908-1992), who contributed an introductory essay to his student's dissertation which was published as 'The Septuagint Translation of the Hebrew Terms in Relation to God in the Book of Jeremiah' (KTAV, 1981). In addition to several popular works, Zlotowitz was also co-author/translator (with Martin Rozenberg) of the Book of Psalms: A New Translation and Commentary (Aronson, 1999).
