Édition de tête: one of 20 numbered copies on Japon Impérial with a double suite of the engravings one on Japon in the first state and one on Hollande van Gelder from the limited edition of 430.</p><p>Originally published under the title Le General Bramble in 1920 the book was then republished in expanded form as Les Discours du Docteur O'Grady in 1922. The novel is about the contemplative conversations of a group of British officers including the titular "Doctor O'Grady" during WWI drawing heavily on the author's experiences who served as an interpreter for the British during the war. The Parisian J.E. Laboureur published three series of engravings on the theme of war despite being conscripted in 1914. He illustrated over 66 titles in his lifetime including works by Jean Giraudoux Remy de Gourmont Marcel Proust et al. and contributed to magazines and journals such as Gazette du Bon Ton.
