Printed at the Press of A. Colish of Mount Vernon New York. Introduction by Alec Waugh. List of Lamotte's 12 color illustrations which were reproduced by William Mangini and Michael Pagliaro of Hazardville Connecticut. Lamotte also illustrated works by Emile Zola and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. He is also known for painting a mural in the White House Swimming Pool room during the presidency of John F. Kennedy. Sold with three of the original paintings by Lamotte which were reproduced as illustrations in the book: "George Duroy on the Boulevard" the frontispiece of this work "A Visit to the Notary's" and "En Route to Rouen with Madeleine" the second two in the text.
