A firm of long standing and excellent repute Philadelphia Rare Books & Manuscripts was noted for their emphasis in early books and Latin American imprints. Maggs celebrated its 500th catalog with bibliographical fireworks displaying the wide range of their riches from illuminated manuscripts to a Napoleon letter to the first Greek Aristotle 1495-98 plus 19 Americana. When I obtained this there was beginning the damage typical of such a large and heavy book.
