Title in gilt on yellow leather spine. All edges red. xvi 303 p.p. Engraved frontispiece and author portrait by Arnoldo V. Westerhout plus eleven of twelve plates by N. Dorigny N. after Mauro Oddi. Lacks plate facing Canto VI which has been replaced with a photocopy reproduction. Small chips to lower margin of plate facing Canto II not affecting image. Light staining to leaves. Ownership signature in pen to front pastedown. Trimmed pages partially affecting text at top-edge. Tiny holes from bookworm to gutters of endpapers and spine. Pasteboard and vellum somewhat soiled. Light rubbing at outer-edges. Interior clean crisp. A very good copy.
