Schulze 1761-1833 der laut ADB nach eben diesem meist "Aenesidemus-Schulze" genannt wurde und zu dessen ersten Schülern Schopenhauer zählte. "Aenesidemus" erschien erstmals 1792 anonym und ohne Druckort und war diejenige von Schulzes Schriften die "am kräftigsten in die philosophische Bewegung eingriff und ihm seine Stellung in deren Geschichte sicherte" ADB 32 1891 S. 776-780 Onlinefassung. Fünf Briefe werden zwischen Hermias und seinem Freunde Aenesidemus gewechselt. Auf die Erklärung des ersten Schreibers wie er vom Skeptiker zum Anhänger der kritischen Philosophie geworden antwortet der titelgebende zweite mit einer grundlegenden Kritik an Kant. Er gründet diese zunächst auf der Kritik der drei das Kantische System noch untermauernden Schriften von Karl Leonhard Reinhold um dann Kant selber scharf zu kritisieren. Dieser Schrift folgten später noch weitere gegen Kant gerichtete. - Erster Band der "Neudrucke seltener philosophischer Werke" die von der Kantgesellschaft herausgegeben wurden. Es erschienen zwischen 1911 und 1916 die Bände 1- 4 und 6 danach wurde die Reihe eingestellt. - Mit dem Besitzstempel des Schulrates und bedeutenden Forschers der Pädagogik-Geschichte August Gans und mit einer handschriftlichen Widmung eines Magdeburger Kollegen nicht entschlüsselbar. - Beiliegend: Kopie eines Empfehlungsschreiben das Eduard Spranger 1947 für August Gans ausgestellt hatte und ihn darin für eine Stelle in der Lehrerbildung empfahl. - Einband etwas braunfleckig innen leicht gebräunt sonst gutes sauberes Exemplar.
