Four title pages with large engraved allegorical vignette 2635 pp. I1787: lxxvi 728; II1789: 979; III 1793: viii 852 recte 844; two large folded tables. Original uniform mottled calf. Spines with five raised gilt-ornamented bans; compartments rich gilt with floral patterns and two burgundy morocco labels with gilt title. Red edges. = The Padua-edition of the rare mathematics section of the 'Encyclopédie' which is reset contains some additional information but does not list a publisher's name. These are very rare. The third volume was published in two parts with continuous pagination but with an additional title. 46 plates are called for in the preface to the third volume and the first two parts were published together with an atlas with 108 plates. Here neither is included. Pagination in the third volume jumps from 841 to 850 without loss. Bindings worn partly abraded - especially in the first volume; otherwise a very good set. unknown
