Oxford Classical Dictionary 474-475. Diogenes Laertius' Lives were likely composed around the middle of the third century A.C.E. His biographies celebrate the lives and memories of Greek and Roman thinkers in this set a section devoted to Confucius is added a lovely nod to Eastern philosophy. This set in particular would make a sparkling addition to any philosophy collection. A nick to volume two's rear board a couple leaves with their corners torn overall a beautiful set.
