A document of life in New York City during the Great Depression. The novel which was made into a 1960 film of the same name is centered on a socialite and model who falls for a married man which leads to a tragic ending. The book is in near fine condition with a slight lean but no remainder marks a beautiful gilt top edge no owner inscriptions or highlighting and no staining or marking. The dust jacket is also in near fine condition clipped with several small chips/tears at the extremities and some shelf wear. It is now protected by an archival cover which is easily removable.
