This long poem from Thomas Tusser which stood as one of the best-selling poetry books of the Elizabethan age uses rhyming couplets to instruct the reader on various farming and country customs offering fascinating insight into life in Tudor England. Scholars also consider it an interesting text for its defence of enclosures.First published as 'A Hundreth Good Pointes of Husbandrie' in 1557 and later enlarged into five hundred points in 1573. This edition is complete with an introduction by Sir Walter Scott a benediction by Rudyard Kipling and a foreword by E. V. Lucas. In the original full crushed morocco. Externally excellent with a couple minor marks to the front board and minimal signs of shelf wear. Slipcase is rubbed with a few pieces of tape to the boards. Internally firmly bound.
