Bottom corners of 16 pages from title page on have been trimmed - looks like the bottom of the library embossment might have affected those pages. Kipling who is thought to have blamed himself heavily for the death of his son took it upon himself to write a regimental history of the Irish Guards in the Great War as a "monument to his son's service".
