1928000573Garden City New York: Doubleday Doran & Company Inc. 1928. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. A collection of speeches to various audiences. A RARE first edition first printing. There is a name and number written neatly on the front pastedown endpaper. The number has bled to the opposite endpaper. There is also some pencil markings in the margins of a small portion of the text. The pages are quite brown and the lower textblock edge has some light soiling. The rear pastedown endpaper has a small 1.25" by 1" sticker from Kaufmann's Book Shop. Spine is a bit loose with age and the binding shows through in the gutters throughout though the book still has a very solid feel to it. Corners are square and the red boards are flat and true but do show some moderate but fairly even soiling that has led to a slight overall dulling effect to the color and gold gilt lettering especially along the spine. In general there is very little edge wear though the upper and lower spine and corners are bumped with the upper spine having some small tears. No dust jacket. This collectible very good first edition/first printing copy is protected with an archival mylar cover. Satisfaction guaranteed!

Doubleday, Doran & Company, Inc. hardcover
