1923609203London: Warren & Phillips 1923. Softcover. Very Good. Unknown edition. Quarto. Two nested bifolia making eight pages. Gift inscription with a sticker shadow on the front cover outer bifolium with nicking at the ends of the fold and soiling to the exterior still a complete and very good copy. For voice and piano. The back cover features short samples of two other songs. The front cover states "To Miss Eva Turner L.R.A.M. Awarded Challenge Cup British Music Society Festival Plymouth 1923." An obscure piece from an obscure composer; we were only able to find two things written about Joyce Pawley both in The Musical Times: A 1931 mention announcing her success along with several others for her licentiateship examination in pianoforte held at the Royal Academy of Music in London; and a 1933 mention of her recently released piece "The Lady" which the writer describes as "a neat work" but goes on to complain that it's too similar to another song. This piece is unrecorded by OCLC and it appears to be equally scarce in the trade. Warren & Phillips unknown
