Overall a nice copy. <p> A charming children's book which takes a journey through the year in rhyme. Each page is illustrated with black and white or tri-color drawings reminiscent of post-World War II America. 3 pages that we saw had parts of the illustrations carefully colored in. From the dust jacket: <br> "There are poems that tell stories nonsense rhymes bits of verse as soothing as a lullaby and poems about the holidays. Some verses daddy and mother will remember from their own childhood and others appear in print for the first time. Francis Kirn the artist has caught the feeling of each poem. There is a touch of whimsy and a sense of humor in some of the drawings and in others there is a feeling of tenderness and realism. Whatever the mood poem and illustration combine to make the day's rhyme a unit."<br> Age Level: Preschool Read Aloud; 9¾" - 12" Tall . Whitman Publishing hardcover
