From the jacket "This is the first time that Wilde's famous play has been illustrated with drawings that were interpretations of the text and not mere decorations." 191226010001<p>Translated by Wilde from his original French. Reprint of the Luce 1907 edition with all 15 of Beardsley's striking interior illlustrations and the gilt cover design. Dark blue/green cloth boards have some light scuffing with a heavier scuff near Wilde's name on front cover. Spine is sunned wrapping around to covers and a 2" area near top of front joint with some fine white spatter. Corners bumped with a bit of fraying shelfwear to edges and head and tail of spine with some fraying to head of spine. Slight outward bow to both covers. Previous owner's name in ink to top corner of FFEP. Endpapers age-toned. Interior subtly age-toned. Binding intact but not especially tight.</p> John W. Luce & Co. hardcover
