This is a very good softcover copy in an about very good stiff card portfolio, printed in black with the title. The portfolio has a little wear at the top of the spine. The softcover catalog fits into a pocket inside the portfolio. Completely clean inside and out. Slight yellowing of text page-edges as usual. Text in English and German. Scarce early survey of Edward Kienholz' work. Catalog layout by Nancy Reddin Kienholz and Jorn Merkert, who also edited the catalog. Essay by Willy Rotzler 'Messages - Coded by Edward Kienholz'. Tadelloses, neuwertiges Ex. Les années 1969-1974 furent assurément un temps majeur de transition à la fois pour la coopération entre Paris et Bonn et pour la construction européenne. Un regard renouvelé s’impose. Cet ouvrage étudie les relations franco-allemandes sous un angle franco-allemand ; dresser la typologie des divergences-convergences permet de cerner consensus et compromis. Si De Gaulle et Adenauer ont solennellement proclamé la réconciliation entre les deux anciennes nations ennemies, c’est avec Georges Pompidou et Willy Brandt que le traité de l’Elysée va enfin être mis en œuvre et que le moteur franco-allemand démarre vraiment. Dans leur politique extérieure face à l’URSS, Pompidou et Brandt parvinrent même à la fusion de leurs intérêts. Etudier au travers d’un champ de forces multiscalaires en constante action, surtout à partir de 1973, infirme le tableau convenu de l’« eurosclérose » des années 1970. Ce livre éclaire ainsi d’un regard nouveau la deuxième phase de la construction européenne, alors que l’objectif pompidolien d’un « gaullisme européen » prenait forme. Gebraucht, aber gut erhalten. - Seit dem Erscheinen seiner Lebenserinnerungen »Verwehte Spuren« gilt der Breslauer Historiker Willy Cohn (1888-1941) als der wichtigste Autor seiner Generation für das jüdische Breslau. Dass auch seine Tagebücher erhalten blieben und nahtlos an seine Erinnerungen anschließen können, macht diese Edition zu einem Buchereignis ersten Ranges. Cohn war als Historiker, Publizist und Pädagoge mit weiten Kreisen Breslaus und insbesondere der jüdischen Gemeinde vertraut. Er erlebte den Exodus vieler Breslauer Juden, die Schrecken der Reichspogromnacht 1938 und die Verzweiflung der verbliebenen Juden, denen die Flucht nicht mehr möglich war. Cohn und seine Familie waren davon selbst betroffen, bis hin zu ihrer Deportation und Ermordung in Litauen 1941. Tag für Tag lässt sich in diesem Buch die Entrechtung und Erniedrigung der Breslauer Juden miterleben. Indirekt ergeben sich auch viele Belege für die Haltung der übrigen Bevölkerung in dieser Zeit. In dieser Alltagsnot findet Cohn allein im jüdischen Glauben Trost und engagiert sich in der Gemeinde. Daneben arbeitet er weiter wissenschaftlich, was ihm Bekanntschaft mit Leo Baeck verschafft, der ihm 1940 seine politische Einschätzung darlegt, oder mit dem bekannten katholischen Kirchenhistoriker Hubert Jedin. Neben den Dresdner Tagebüchern Victor Klemperers gibt es keinen vergleichbaren Erlebnisbericht. ISBN 9783412329051

Prima rarissima edizione, nessun esemplare censito in ICCU, di questa celebre memoria del noto medico veronese Luigi Willy che suscitò notevole dibattito e alcune pubblicazioni di risposta. L’opera si suddivide in due parti. Nella prima un medico veronese descrive la morte di un suo paziente, un religioso, al quale aveva somministrato olio di ricino e come tale fatto avesse fatto cadere su di lui alcune accuse di incompetenza. Segue poi la lettera scritta da Willy a questo medico nella quale l’autore analizzo il caso espletando il suo pensiero sulla validità dell’utilizzo dell’olio di ricino, la storia del suo utilizzo e su come e dove solitamente si fa preparare l’olio di ricino (in sue diversi formati) presso due celebri spezierie veronesi. Willy cerca di capire le ragioni della morte del paziente confrontando i casi pratici in cui l’olio è effettivamente servito e quelli in cui è risultato inutile o pernicioso fino alla conclusione del caso che, secondo Willy, scagiona l’operato del medico destinatario della lettera. Prima rarissima edizione, nessun esemplare censito in ICCU, di questa memoria a tema farmaceutico stampata su carta di ottima qualità.
