Cresciuto nella fede evangelica su cui fondava un'idea laica di libertà, Willy Jervis - ingegnere all'Olivetti di Ivrea, all'epoca definita "covo" di antifascisti - è figura di rilievo nella storia partigiana, in particolare delle valli del Piemonte. Dopo l'8 settembre 1943 costituì a Ivrea i primi gruppi partigiani. Ricercato, entrò in clandestinità, aderì al Partito d'Azione e aiutò a espatriare in Svizzera, grazie alle doti di alpinista, gruppi di ebrei e prigionieri anglo-americani. Catturato, imprigionato e torturato nel 1944 fu trucidato dai nazifascisti. Autori: Lorenzo Tibaldo.
