This 12mo version could be an early printing of the 3rd edition but I rather think it is a later printing of the 2nd. Vg- in half leather with marbled boards; has about an inch and a half of worm damage on one side of the spine of vol. 2. All corners are worn. After a trip to the Middle East in 1782 he suggested that the ancient Egyptians were originally black Africans and that the Egyptians of his time were mulats with mixed blood.
