In uniform quarter morocco bindings over cloth covered boards four raised bands gilt tooling to spine. Externally lightly rubbed to head and tail of spine and extremities boards lightly marked. Faint previous ownership inscription to recto front blank leaf 'Premieres Meditations Poetiques' dated 1885. Internally firmly bound. Minor staining mark to top edge first few leaves 'Nouvelles Meditations' not affecting any of the text. Light spotting to leaves with gentle age toning as usual with the type of paper used.
