Werner Von Ebrennac musicien cultivé élégant et extrêmement civilisé croit en la fraternité des peuples et pense qu'au sortir de cette guerre la France se relèvera plus grande que jamais. Issu d'une famille de tradition francophile il tâchera de se faire accepter par ces deux personnages qui malgré eux ressentent toute la noblesse d'âme de leur ennemi.
