Edition limited to 100 copies this is copy 98 large 4to 70 leaves vignette lithograph portrait on title page 10 full-page lithographs by Otto Baumberger each one signed in the margin by him in pencil; original paste-paper boards corners worn extremities lightly rubbed neatly rebacked for appearance sake the sewing structure loose but intact edges uncut; occasional mild spotting very good in a new green cloth clamshell box. An early and uncharacteristic work by Otto Baumberger 1889-1961 the noted Swiss painter and poster artist. Early on as an employee of Wolfensberger AG in Zurich he acquired a thorough knowledge of lithographic technique employed with precision in this rendering of Schiller's classic work. Later Baumberger produced some 200 posters of great quality and style.
