015758Heinemann 1959 1st UK. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine. First edition first printing with the Theatre Programme from the first production in 1959. This copy is in remarkably well preserved condition bound in original blue linen covered boards with bright gilt titling to the spine. The unclipped dust wrapper is a trifle dusty and lightly sunned to the spine with a sl. stain to edge but still really nice for its age for its age. It has been covered in clear removable protective film. The Complaisant Lover was first produced on 18 June 1959 by John Gielgud at the Globe Theatre London where it ran for almost a year. The cast included; Ralph Richardson as Victor Rhodes Paul Scofield as Clive Root and Phyllis Calvert as Mary Rhodes. <br/> <br/> Heinemann 1959 (1st UK) hardcover
