Fully illustrated throughout by Steadman's wonderful line drawings. The book is in very good condition indeed the white boards decorated and lettered in dark purple are still very bright and fresh. Overall a very nice clean copy in a better than very good dustwrapper which has a couple of tiny chips to the top spine edge but is generally clean and fresh. Original price 63s NET still present on the front inner flap. A lovely copy of this scarce edition. Multi coloured floral endpapers. Top edge gilt. Purple silk bookmarker bound in. The original publishers red cloth boards and spines bound in at the rear of each volume. Cloth with gilt circular devices on boards each with a different character from the books inside and triple gilt ruled borders.
