John Dryden 1631 - 1700 was an English poet literary critic translator and playwright who was made Poet Laureate in 1668. He is seen as dominating the literary life of Restoration England to such a point that the period came to be known in literary circles as the Age of Dryden. Walter Scott called him "Glorious John." Sir Walter Scott 1st Baronet FRSE 1771 - 1832 was a Scottish historical novelist playwright and poet popular throughout much of the world during his time. George Edward Bateman Saintsbury 1845 - 1933 was an English writer literary historian scholar critic and wine connoisseur. Rebound in cloth with amateur spine labels. Externally generally smart but with slight wear to extremities and odd marks to boards and slight cockling to cloth to spines. Internally firmly bound.
