The postcard bears greeting for Seymour Halpern aged 16 and the quote reads "a maiden speech is always an ordeal but a maiden speech in a foreign language is a terrifying affair!" Simone de Caillavet Maurois was the wife of André Maurois and daughter of the French writer and playwright Gaston Armam de Caillavet and granddaughter of Mme. Arman de Caillavet who was famous for her salon about which the French literary world circled and she was a close friend and influence on Anatole France. <br/><br/> unknown
