The colophon states: "This authorized translation of Pablo Neruda's 'Aun' is issued in an edition of 250 copies designed and printed by Sam Hamill in the fall of 1983 from hand set Centaur type on Frankfurt Cream paper. The binding is by Marsha Hollingsworth." Copper Canyon Press is a nonprofit independent poetry publisher that "believes poetry is vital to language and living." This collection of thirty six poems was first published in Spanish in 1962. Neruda considered it a personal favorite and asked fellow poet Alastair Reid to translate the work into English. This translation was published in 1975 two years after Neruda's death. Poems appear in both Spanish and English with translated pages facing each other so the two versions can be viewed side by side.
