Grand in-4, broché sous couverture à rabats. 270 x 190 mm, (ff) 447 pp. Titre en majuscules rouges sur la couverture, nom d'auteur en lettres normales, mention "America 1950" en majuscules, nom d'auteur et mention identique obscurcies sur la moitié inférieure du dos. Page de titre, photo noir et blanc de Pablo Neruda collée une page après, sommaire en début d'ouvrage, index des illustrations, préface de Galo Gonzalez D. non paginés. Illustré par José Venturelli Eade (Santiago, 1924 - Pékin, 1998) avec de nombreuses gravures noir et blanc hors-texte au fil du livre. Les gravures ont laissé leurs marques sur les pages opposées. Publicada el mismo año que la edición original publicada en Ciudad de México, la primera edición chilena de la obra. Gran formato, rústica con solapas. 270 x 190 mm, 447 páginas. Título en mayúsculas rojas en la portada, nombre del autor en letra normal, inscripción «América 1950» en mayúsculas, nombre del autor e inscripción idéntica ocultas en la parte inferior del lomo. Portada, fotografía en blanco y negro de Pablo Neruda pegada una página después, índice al principio del libro, índice de ilustraciones, prólogo de Galo González D. sin paginar. Ilustrado por José Venturelli Eade (Santiago, 1924 – Pekín, 1998) con numerosos grabados en blanco y negro a lo largo del libro. Los grabados han dejado su huella en las páginas enfrentadas. Línea negra en la parte inferior de las páginas con numeración exterior, comenzando en la página 5. Títulos de las estrofas en negrita en los márgenes.
