A humorous witty little book touching on the character of women and the particularities of relations with them written by Laurens Maynard and distributed to his friends during the Christmas of 1912. In 1899 the writer and publisher Laurens Maynard 1866-1917 co-founded the Boston publishing firm of Small Maynard & Company. He left the firm in 1907 to work as a representative for the New York City publishing house of Brentano's. He was a native of Boston and a graduate of the Boston Latin School. Following graduation he briefly lived in Denison Iowa 1884-1885 where he worked as a teacher at the Center school in Milford Township and learned something of the printing trade at the Denison Review before returning to Boston.
