È la prima vita di Mike, non sarà la sola.La droga gli fa perdere tutto, costringendolo a lasciare gli States. In Italia assapora la terza vita. Gioca con Reggio Emilia un campionato da protagonista, è capocannoniere del torneo e a 41 anni va in campo per la semifinale scudetto. Si riscatta anche come uomo, mette a disposizione dei giovani la sua esperienza, impegnandosi al fianco dei ragazzi tossicodipendenti. La quarta vita si chiude tragicamente. Il cancro ai polmoni, le difficoltà per curarlo, l'aiuto dei vecchi amici. E poi la morte, a 55 anni.

Dust jacket not price clipped with chips and small tears to upper edge and fading to spine. 183pp. Originally published as The Anointed, the book is well illustrated with photographs from the MGM film starring Clark Gable, Greer Garson, Joan Blondell and Thomas Mitchell.
