An interesting work of a collection of lessons on diseases by the French physician Ernest Bazin with a folding table of information. The second edition of this work. In the original French. This work is a collection of clinical lessons of scrofula and other diseases such as syphilis and arthritis. Pierre-Antoine-Ernest Bazin was a French physician working at the Hopital Lourcine Hopital Saint-Antoine and Hopital Saint-Louis. He also published 'Leçons Théoriques et Cliniques sur les Syphilides' and 'Leçons Théoriques et Cliniques sur les Affections Génériques de la Peau'. With a folding table. Bookplate to the front pastedown belonging to Dr Charles Julliard. Collated complete. In the original quarter calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally generally smart. Light discolouration to the rear board. Marking to the spine with some light rubbing to the raised bands and to the head and the tail. Bumping to the extremities resulting in some loss of paper to the tail of the front board. Front joint and hinge are starting but firm. Rubbing to the rear hinge. Bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright with the odd scattered spot being heavier to the first and last few pages. Folding plate is detached but present. Good Adrien Delahaye hardcover

This novel first published in 1899 concerns the problems of urbanization and displacement and the desertification of the French countryside. Some consider this work to be prophetic in its ecological ideas. Undated dated through copies held at the British Library. In a quarter morocco binding.
