An attractively printed and curiously organized dictionary - an early attempt at encyclopedic completeness that led to Bayle's Dictionaire Historique et Critique 1697 and Diderot and D'Alembert's great Encyclopédie. Organized by word endings and published 14 years after Cardinal Richlieu called for the creation of a French Dictionary but 45 years before the first edition of the Dictionnaire de l'Académie Française.
