A limited edition of only 30 boxed sets featuring facsimiles of poetry broadsides produced in 1979 by Hirschman and the Union of Street Poets in San Francisco. Hirschman wrote many of the poems but he also translated the works of others such as Vladimir Mayakovsky. As he explains in a two-page introduction Hirschman artist Kristen Wetterhahn and poet Jack Mueller d. 2017 formed the Union of Street Poets in December 1978. The group made photocopies of poems in editions of 100 copies which they gave to fellow poets and artists as well as the general public. This edition reproduces 23 of the broadsides on multicolored paper most with striking art work by Wetterhahn.<br /><br />A typically beautiful production by Soheyl Dahi and his Sore Dove Press known for high-quality limited editions of works by poets and artists.<br /><br />OCLC lists seven institutional holdings: SUNY at Buffalo San Jose State Berkeley Colorado Yale Delaware and Texas. 4598Very Good. Curious and strange group of poems concerning deathwritten by Ann Catherine Wing Flasen. Most of the named deceased persons about which the poems were written lived in Upstate New York Rheinbeck Bainbridge and surrounding areas. Poems are dated and run from 1800 to the 1840's. One poem is written for a murder victim Catherine Berringer of Rhinebeck poisoned with arsenic by her husband. 78 pages almost entirely concerning death. A previous owner purchased the manuscript at an estate sale in Albany New York where it had been culled from an attic. <br/><br/> unknown books
